The History of Doherty Nutrition
Doherty Nutrition began in 2019 when Colin Doherty launched a small, part-time practice with just one passionate dietitian. What started as a local effort to help people take control of their health through food quickly grew, fueled by community trust and a belief that nutrition counseling can and should be simple, realistic, and accessible for everyone.
Thanks to our leadership team—Clinical Manager Isabella, Operations Manager Krista, and Business Development Manager Diana—Colin has been able to build Doherty Nutrition into what it is today: the largest private nutrition practice in Texas, with a growing presence in Illinois and more expansion on the way.
Our mission and philosophy of care have remained unchanged since the day we opened our doors. This commitment has guided our growth and allowed us to help more people nourish their bodies, heal their relationship with food, and meet their goals in a way that feels realistic and sustainable. Through inclusive, non-judgmental care, we focus on making nutrition approachable, evidence-based, and educational—empowering each client with the latest nutrition science while honoring their individual needs and experiences.
