FAQs About Nutrition Counseling
Many insurance plans cover nutrition counseling as a preventative or medical service. Depending on your specific plan, you may be 100% covered or responsible for standard copays/deductibles. We’re in-network with most major providers, so we invite you to verify your insurance benefits!
We offer in-person appointments at our offices in Texas (Austin, Fort Worth, North Dallas, Southlake) and Illinois (Chicago). We also offer virtual nutrition counseling in many states, including Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
Not at all! While many clients come to us with specific medical concerns, many seek out nutrition counseling for their overall health and wellness. Some insurance plans might require a referral for coverage (primarily HMOs), but our services are available to you no matter what.
We believe nutrition counseling should be practical, personalized, and fun! We provide evidence-based care while teaching you how to use food as medicine—without extreme diets or unrealistic restrictions. Our Registered Dietitian Nutritionists are trained in the philosophies intuitive eating, Health at Every Size, and weight-inclusive care. This means we meet you where you are and help you develop lasting strategies that work for your unique needs.
Everyone’s timeline is unique! We find that most clients benefit from multiple follow-up sessions. After your first appointment, your dietitian can recommend a frequency based on your specific needs, but the decision is ultimately up to you.
Getting started is simple! You have two options: you can fill out our request counseling form to help us get to know you and match you with a dietitian, or if you already have one in mind, you can book directly online.
