FAQs About Mindful and Intuitive Eating
Intuitive eating is an evidence-based approach to eating that helps you rebuild trust in your body and food, rather than in restriction-based diets. Intuitive eating is all about recognizing and honoring your fullness and hunger cues, healing your relationship with food, and building sustainable meal patterns.
Many insurance plans cover nutrition counseling. Depending on your policy, you may not need to pay anything out of pocket or have a small copay/deductible. We accept most major providers, so we encourage you to verify your insurance benefits.
We offer in-person, intuitive eating nutrition counseling at our offices in Texas (Austin, Fort Worth, North Dallas, Southlake) and Illinois (Chicago). We also provide telehealth services in 15 states, including Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
No referral needed to start your intuitive eating journey! Some insurance plans might require a referral from your PCP (specifically HMOs), but you don’t need a referral to schedule an appointment with us.
Your first appointment is usually 55-85 minutes and lays the groundwork for your intuitive eating journey. We’ll explore your past and current relationship with food, including any dieting history and meal patterns. We’ll also help you understand the intuitive eating approach and work together to establish goals personalized to you!
Yes! We can help you in your intuitive eating journey even if you have dietary restrictions.
To get started with us, you can complete our request counseling form to tell us more about you and your goals so we can match you with a dietitian. If you know who you’d like to work with, you can book directly online.
